Tanah Polpolan is made of clay as the main structural element of traditional houses in Sangeh, Bali. It is believed that this particular technique of building with tanah polpolan has existed since the 1800s. Tanah Polpolan is unique because of the use of buffalo dung, whereas it is believed to function as an adhesive element and hardener.
